Around Lake Wolfgang
Holiday Paradise at Wolfgangsee
If we had to invent a perfectly romantic landscape, it would definitely look similar to Lake Wolfgangsee. The Austrian Emperor already enjoyed the picturesque surroundings for excursions when he stayed in the neighbouring city of Bad Ischl. However, St. Wolfgang became popular in the 1930ies with the White Horse Inn musical comedy and the hotel of the same name and its illustrious guests. The rest is history. The scenery has not changed much since then. The Schafberg mountain dominates the region around Lake Wolfgangsee and the White Horse Inn still exists. In the meantime, it has become a first-class 4-star hotel. Holidays at Lake Wolfgangsee means to experience the classic summer retreat in a new way. The combination of mountains and the lake amid beautiful nature is never out of style. In winter this place is a lot quieter but still offers plenty of possibilities such as skiing, cross-country skiing and winter walking tours.
